Jeff Canter

Chief Executive Officer and President

As Chief Executive Officer, President and one of the founders of Uptivity, Jeff Canter oversees all facets of the company and making sure all aspects of business are positioned for growth. Jeff’s focus is to keep every team within the organization aligned with the company mission, “to provide the highest levels of quality to our customers, so they can provide the highest levels of quality to their customers.” Under Jeff’s leadership, Uptivity has grown to become a leading provider of innovative workforce optimization solutions. Through hard work, fiscal responsibility and a resolute dedication to its customers, the company has achieved significant growth and is well positioned for long-term success.

Jeff previously served Uptivity’s chief operating officer and chief information officer, where he built an operational framework that would support the company’s future growth and was instrumental in building out the technical capabilities of the Discover solution suite. Prior to co-founding Uptivity, Jeff built his extensive knowledge of the contact center industry while working as a senior software engineer for a large outsourcer, where he architected and launched the organization’s key software infrastructure, including several critical voice and data applications. Jeff received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Capital University.

Jonathan R. Dunham

Executive Vice President, Sales & Business Development

As the Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Jonathan directs all facets of Uptivity’s sales and business development efforts. Jonathan is an innovative leader in the contact center industry with proven results in closing and growing sales channels, specifically in the call center services markets. Jonathan specializes in delivering pragmatic solutions tailored to customers' needs and budgets. Jonathan’s role also includes direct and channel sales, establishing opportunities, driving sales revenue and managing partnerships as well as strategic sales and solutions.

Jonathan has served in numerous management roles ranging from strategic sales planning and business development to executive management, proficient in executing sales, exceeding sales objectives, and expanding sales presence through direct and indirect models. Jonathan is a member of the Chief Sales Officer Forum and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Ohio University.

Patrick Hall

Chief Marketing Officer

As the Chief Marketing Officer and one of the founders of Uptivity, Patrick is charged with defining market strategy, managing customer experience and feedback, exploring new product opportunities and developing business alliances. Patrick inspires a growing staff, promoting and advancing careers as well as making Uptivity a dominant player within the industry. This includes responsibility for marketing communications, business development, services and education and product management in order to identify, initiate and manage company goals and growth.

Patrick’s career began at a large customer service outsourcer, whereas Telecommunications Director, he had responsibility for the teams implementing and maintaining the company's voice network and multiple ACD platforms. From there, Patrick co-founded Uptivity, running Uptivity's support and implementation teams as Director of Client Services prior to becoming CMO. Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The Ohio State University, graduating with honors.

Matt Madzia

Vice President, Research & Development

As the Vice President of Research & Development at Uptivity, Matt leads software development, quality, product management, and sales engineering teams for a rapidly expanding suite of best-in class products. Matt specializes in fostering creativity and innovation in his organization, while setting the highest standards of quality. This results in exceptional software that has won awards for ease of use and simple management that saves organizations time and money. 

Matt brings over a decade of experience in developing and managing contact center technologies. His expertise comes from a variety of verticals, ranging from financial services to business process outsourcing. As an early employee of Uptivity, Matt has been instrumental to the growth of the organization. His previous roles in the company include managing the creation of the dedicated support and deployment teams, and developing the product management organization.

Chris Rutter

Vice President, Human Resources

As the Vice President of Human Resources at Uptivity, Chris brings over 8 years of human resources and leadership experience to the role. Chris is charged with implementing and maintaining the entire Human Resources vision for Uptivity.  This includes compensation, benefits, employee relations, training & development, performance management, succession planning and talent acquisition. Chris seeks the best talent for Uptivity, as well as the development and growth needed for success in driving Uptivity towards being an industry leader.

Prior to joining Uptivity, Chris held various HR roles at McGraw-Hill Education and OCLC, Inc. Chris received his Bachelor’s degree from Franklin University with a dual major in Human Resource Management and Business Administration, graduating magna cum laude.  He obtained his MBA in Executive Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management from Ashland University also with honors, and is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt. 

Chris is on the board of directors of Human Resource Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) as the Vice President of Programming & Professional Development as well as a board member for Out & Equal Workplace Advocates.  Chris was also elected as a commissoner of Create Columbus, an initative to attract and retain Young Professionals to downtown Columbus to Live, Work & Play. Throughout the year, Chris also teaches a seminar to undergraduates at Ashland University which prepares them to enter the workforce.

Mark Studer, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer and one of founders of Uptivity, Mark oversees all facets for all corporate accounting and finance for Uptivity. This includes responsibility for the focus and success in managing corporate finance, developing and executing growth strategies, and maintaining daily operations management. Bringing more than 20 years of accounting, finance management and business development to his role, Mark’s experience proves itself to be an asset to Uptivity.

Prior to co-founding Uptivity, Mark’s career began as an audit senior, to joining a large outsourcer as a financial controller, from there becoming VP of finance to CFO. Mark’s experience included direct responsibility for evaluating and enhancing all financial programs, including budgeting and financial reporting, to overseeing the approval and processing of revenue and expenditures, and helping increase earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).

Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from The Ohio State University, graduating cum laude, and is also a graduate of the Capital University Master of Business Administration program. Mark is also a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio and a Bronze Star recipient of Operation Desert Storm.

Tarne Tassniyom

Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer and one of the founders of Uptivity, Tarne is charged with developing and creating new working and strategic solutions for clients, with focus on product development as well as the management of the development team and internal IT. This includes responsibility for the Run Team, Solution Engineers, and development system administration to ensure the best configuration and environment for clients.

Tarne’s career began in the banking industry, where he gained experience in building technology skills as an information system officer, responsible with running IT security programs as well as developing and implementing all of IT programs. From there, Tarne co-founded Uptivity, initially focusing on support, product development, and system installations prior to becoming CTO. Tarne graduated magna cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2001 with a double major in computer science and economics. During his undergraduate career, he was a member of ODE (Omicron Delta Epsilon), the economics honor society, and the president of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), the scientific computing society.

Susan Terry

Vice President, Global Channels & Tech Alliances

As the Vice President of Global Channels and Tech Alliances, Susan brings a strong history of building successful channel programs across the CC and UC, with a core emphasis on start-ups with new and innovative technologies. Susan’s core emphasis with Uptivity is to drive strategy and execution for our channel business including expansion from existing partners, global strategic partner recruiting and the development of sales via technology alliances. 

Susan joined Uptivity from Avaya, where she was responsible for the speech analytics sales channel, including OEM solution providers, direct revenue, and the overall integration of the acquired speech analytics technology into Avaya platforms and solutions.

Rebecca Thomas

Vice President, Client Services

As the Vice President of Client Services at Uptivity, Rebecca brings over 10 years of contact center and leadership experience to her role. Joining Uptivity in 2009, Rebecca was proud to have built the project management practice, also introducing and driving adherence to many cross-departmental procedures and standards. Rebecca’s role includes managing the project management, installation and support departments. 

Prior to joining Uptivity, Rebecca held positions as a consultant to contact center, and sales and service divisions for various companies within the industry, also serving under her own company, CRM Future. Rebecca also has experience specializing in helping organizations improve by adopting new technologies and business practices, focusing on customer relationship management. Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University. 

Rebecca is involved in various memberships, such as the Help Desk Institute and Project Management Institute. Rebecca is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, which is an important industry recognized certification for project managers. Rebecca is also a Siebel7 Certified Business Analyst.
